The ‘Whatever You Like’ rapper receives support from his fellow musicians after facing hecklers and boos from the crowd during his set at the April Fools Comedy Jam.
AceShowbiz –T.I. has found support in Nelly and Tank. Shortly after explaining why he got booed during his stand-up comedy set at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the “Whatever You Like” rapper was defended by his fellow musicians.
On Saturday, April 9, The Shade Room shared a clip of T.I. receiving hecklers from the crowd during his set at the April Fools Comedy Jam. In the comment section, Nelly wrote, “Tell me what comedian hasn’t got booed?” Nelly continued, “Apart of earning ya stripes. that’s a part of entertainment. period.”
In the meantime, Tank commented, “Those kinds of crowds wanna hear you do what they know you for. He has to build a set that involves his music and comedy.” The “F**kin’ wit Me” crooner also believed that T.I. “will be fine,” adding, “Speaking from experience.”
In the said video, T.I. made a joke about seducing the mother of one of his opponents during his performance at the festival, which featured other comedians including Nick Cannon, Rip Micheals, HaHa Davis, Eddie Griffin and B. Simone. However, the joke seemingly didn’t sit well with the audience.
“Well god damn,” T.I. said after getting booed. “I’m gone tell y’all muthaf**kin’ a** like this. You got one more muthaf**kin’ album out of me. It’s called ‘Kill The King’ for muthaf**kas like you. And I appreciate y’all because you make me the absolute best n***a. New York has made me the muthaf**kin’ best.”
Following the show, T.I. went live with Michael Blackson on Instagram to talk about the performance. “Did you enjoy that feeling of being booed? You liked that?” Michael asked the “Dead and Gone” spitter with a face of confusion. In response, the 41-year-old hip-hop star said, “Yes, I loved it! I didn’t feel like they were booing me like that. I felt like they were booing me like ‘I dare you to be more funny, I dare you to be more funny, I dare you to be better.’ “
Despite receiving hecklers and boos, T.I., who recently came under fire for slamming comedienne Lauren Knight, stressed that he’s going to keep doing comedy. “I don’t care what they show, I’m not seeking anybody’s validation. I’m not here for nobody else’s approval. I don’t give a damn,” he told Michael.
