The CW Not Ordering More Episodes of ‘Walker Independence’ & ‘The Winchesters’

The site reports that this is not just central to the two spinoffs, but for all new series, which also includes the upcoming Gotham Knights. They will remain at 13 episodes for their first season.

This however does not mean that the shows are up for cancelation – that has yet to be decided at the time of this post.

New network head Dennis Miller, who took over after CW president Mark Pedowitz stepped down, reportedly “stressed to producers and talent that no decisions about next season have been made, indicating that the lack of back orders does not mean cancellations.”

If you missed it, The Winchesters‘ premiere episode marked the CW’s biggest series debut this season!

In the last week alone, it was announced that two CW shows are ending, joining this year’s growing list of shows coming to a close on the network. Here’s every show canceled or announced to be ending so far this year.

It is expected that more shows will meet their fate of ending in the coming months as Nexstar looks to cut costs to make The CW profitable.

Also on Tuesday (November 1), it was revealed that the network was hit with dozens of layoffs.
