The Wire star Chris Clanton, 35, has been discharged from hospital after being shot in the ear, according to reports. The star was rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries when he was shot during an incident, which has sparked a police investigation.

The American actor was reportedly shot in the ear on Thursday evening at approximately 7pm on Thursday in Baltimore, Maryland.
The star, who is most famously known for playing Savino Bratton in season 1 and 5 of HBO’s crime drama, The Wire, has since been released from hospital following the incident.
Reports have indicated that it is unclear whether the actor was specifically targeted during the shooting, as police ask for witnesses of the incident to come forward to help with investigations.
Baltimore Police Department confirmed to TMZ that an investigation has been launched following the shooting.
A spokesperson for the Department said they were “investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday around 7 PM.”
They went on to confirm that “a 35-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the ear”.
“Medics responded and took the victim to a hospital for treatment,” they added.
The incident comes 13 years after the actor was stabbed in the buttocks and chest during a party in Maryland, which resulted in hospitalisation at John Hopkins Bayview Medical Centre.
Chris began his acting career at 12.
He then shot to fame in his role as Savino Bratten in The Wire.
The star went on to complete a variety of Indie films before relocating to Los Angeles in 2013.
Chris starred in the hit HBO series which ran from 2002 until 2008 and was set in Baltimore.
The show looks at the drug scene in the city from the point of view of police enforcers and drug trafficking gangs.
On the show Chris played an enforcer for a drug trafficking gang on nine episodes in the first and fifth seasons.
The show has more than 60 episodes over five seasons and was broadcast over six years.
It also stars actors including Dominic West, John Doman and Deidre Lovejoy.
The star’s most recent acting credit was in a 2016 TV series called The Unrest: Web.
