Prince Harry, 36, and Meghan Markle, 39, welcomed their second child into the world earlier last Friday, a daughter named Lilibet Diana. Their chosen name is a tribute to the Queen as well as his late mum Princess Diana.

Taking to Twitter, 63-year old Fern has now shared her thoughts on their choice.

In view of his 86,000 followers, she wrote: “I rather think Harry and Meghan have played a blinder with Lilibet Diana.

“And congratulations to them all.”

Many of Fern’s followers flocked to her post to comment.

One user wrote: “I agree with you Fern. Best wishes to them x.”

A second commented: “Yes definitely, they’ll be back in the good books now.”

“I agree Fern, they played that brilliantly,” a third added.

Announcing their baby news, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement: “On June 4, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili.

“She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe.

“Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”

The former This Morning presenter has previously revealed she has had an “obsession” with the Royal Family since she was young.

“I’m not necessarily a royalist but I love the history of it all,” she revealed.

“I’ve some Golden Jubilee plates in the downstairs loo!”

Speaking to What’s On TV, she went on to discuss the time she met Princess Diana.

She added: “I’ve met Prince Charles and Camilla. I also saw Diana at events –there was something about her.

“She had a huge presence. After she left the room there was a Disney twinkle still in the air.”

The author added she had also met the Queen a couple of times, who was “very nice”.

Prince Harry and Meghan are also parents to two-year-old son Archie.

They began dating after meeting through mutual friends and tied the knot back in 2018.

They currently live in Los Angeles after stepping down from their senior Royal duties in March 2020.
