This Morning's Josie Gibson has described her TV career as a 'complete fluke', thirteen years after bursting on to our screens on Big Brother, which she went on to win.
The 38 year old star, who now regularly presents on This Morning, sat down for an exclusive chat with OK!, as she discussed her unconventional rise to fame, and she's not shy about expressing her incredulity.
"My career is a complete fluke," she tells us. "I didn't think I was even going to go on Big Brother, and then when I got out, I thought that I'd quite like to do some presenting.
"I wasn’t very good at the start, because I couldn’t see the autocue, but then I had my eyes lasered, and This Morning gave me a chance.
"Fair play to the show – they even stuck with me after I had a panic attack in the studio because I was so nervous. But they really nurtured me and they’ve been brilliant to me.
"I cannot believe I work on This Morning. I actually cannot get over it,” she smiles. “If someone had told me I’d present one of the biggest daytime TV shows I would have laughed in their face. I feel so grateful and honoured."
Josie started her This Morning duties in hilarious Bridget Jones-style situations, such as testing out rollercoasters as her side-splitting reactions were filmed.
But ITV bosses clearly saw stars in her eyes as, in 2021, the star stepped up her role and began presenting on the main show.
Whilst Josie might have won millions of fans across the nation, one person that doesn't seem too fussed by her TV success is her four year old son, Reggie.
During our chat, she is hanging out at a pool with him and some friends, as she asks him: “Reg, do you know I’m on TV?,” to which he answers, “No mummy, I watch YouTube and I don’t want to see you on that.”
Josie is nothing if not humble, and she wisely told us that the key to success is being polite to everyone.
She says: "Always be polite to everybody.
"Be even more polite to the people at the bottom, because the ones who are making your tea and coffee, one day they will be your editors and they will be your producers."
Whilst she might be surprised at her own success, she's certainly doing something right, and it was perhaps no coincident that ITV bosses chose her to sit alongside Holly Willoughby as she returned to This Morning after weeks of scandal surrounding her former co-host, Phillip Schofield.
After Holly delivered a tearful address to the show's viewers about Phillip, Josie offered her a supportive hug, and the stars held hands as they looked toward the future on This Morning.
