ITV This Morning’s Josie Gibson was one of the big winners at Ascot thanks to one of her outside bets.
The 38-year-old star is said to have won £1,700 with a wager on 22/1 Jimi Hendrix at the Royal Hunt Cup on Wednesday.
A source told The Sun: “Everyone told her she was mad to do it but she fancied a flutter. She didn’t put a lot on, just a throwaway amount and ended up winning £1,700.”
The race was a flat handicap run over a mile. After it took place, Josie was seen pumping the air with delight.
She was spotted with a number of colleagues from ITV including Amanda Holden, Lorraine Kelly, and Charlene White. Josie had been covering the horse racing festival for the TV show.
The Royal Hunt Cup is said to be one of the biggest betting heats of the five-day meeting. It was Jimi Hendrix’s second win of the racing season, having also landed Newbury’s Spring Cup.
TV star Josie wowed fans at the meet with a stunning red dress that showed off her remarkable weight loss. It comes at a time when her star continues to rise over a decade after she won Big Brother.
And sources say she could be in line for a call to join this series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, although contestants have not yet been confirmed.
