Three DMX tracks have returned to the Billboard Hot 100 chart following the rapper’s death on Friday, April 9.
“Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” re-entered at No. 16, while “Party Up (Up in Here)” and “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” return at Nos. 40 and 46, respectively.
DMX died on April 9 after suffering a heart attack triggered by a drug overdose on April 2. He was 50 years old.
“Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” peaked to a new high of No. 16, besting its previous peak of No. 94. The No. 16 position also is a career-best for the late artist.
DMX’s previous best on the chart was “Money, Power & Respect,” a collaboration with The Lox and Lil Kim, which peaked at No. 17.
DMX’s greatest hits collection, The Best of DMX, also jumped to No. 2 on Billboard‘s all-genre 200 chart.
The Best of DMX surged from No. 73 to No. 2 on the chart after the album recorded 77,000 equivalent album units, up 544%, in the U.S. in the week ending April 15, according to MRC Data.
The 21-track Best of DMX features “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” “Party Up (Up in Here)” and “X Gon’ Give It to Ya.”
