Three DMX Tracks Return To Billboard Hot 100

Three DMX tracks have returned to the Billboard Hot 100 chart following the rapper’s death on Friday, April 9.

“Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” re-entered at No. 16, while “Party Up (Up in Here)” and “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” return at Nos. 40 and 46, respectively.

DMX died on April 9 after suffering a heart attack triggered by a drug overdose on April 2. He was 50 years old.

“Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” peaked to a new high of No. 16, besting its previous peak of No. 94. The No. 16 position also is a career-best for the late artist.

DMX’s previous best on the chart was “Money, Power & Respect,” a collaboration with The Lox and Lil Kim, which peaked at No. 17.

DMX’s greatest hits collection, The Best of DMX, also jumped to No. 2 on Billboard‘s all-genre 200 chart.

The Best of DMX surged from No. 73 to No. 2 on the chart after the album recorded 77,000 equivalent album units, up 544%, in the U.S. in the week ending April 15, according to MRC Data.

The 21-track Best of DMX features “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” “Party Up (Up in Here)” and “X Gon’ Give It to Ya.”
