Tom Daley’s husband Dustin Lance Black faces trial accused of attacking woman in nightclub

Tom Daley's husband Dustin Lance Black has been accused of attacking a woman in a nightclub and is now facing trial, according to reports.

American screenwriter Dustin, 48, has been accused of throwing a drink over Teddy Edwardes, 32, who is the founder of Lick Events and host of BBC Three show The Big Proud Party Agency.

Dustin allegedly got into a dispute with Teddy at Freedom nightclub in London in August 2022, where he was out with Olympic diver husband Tom, 28.

He was bailed unconditionally until his trial on August 8, 2023. Dad-of-two Dustin appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court via video link on Thursday 27 April and denied assault by beating, according to The Sun.

OK! has contacted representatives for Dustin Lance Black.

Shortly after the incident took place last year, Teddy took to social media to share her side of the story and alleged Dustin threw an "entire drink" over her after she asked a "random" person to leave their table in the nightclub.

She said she didn't have a drink to throw back so responded by giving him a "little tap on the head".

Teddy also said: "The security came to move them on and Tom’s husband started going mad saying how welcome I’ve made him feel and that was leaving, so I was like OK. Then got straight drink thrown in my face."

She added: "I have to add that Tom Daley was lovely throughout he was just trying to defuse the situation."

The news comes after Tom and Dustin announced the arrival of their second child, Phoenix Rose Black-Daley, in April.

The couple welcomed their second son via surrogate in March, following the birth of son Robert in 2018.

Tom shared an announcement on Instagram and posted two family photographs. One showed Tom holding baby Phoenix while a second showed him and Dustin introducing Robert to his younger sibling.

Proud dad Tom captioned the post: "PHOENIX ROSE BLACK-DALEY.

"Our family has grown in the last week, we welcomed Phoenix to the world on 28/03/23 and he’s just perfect. Robbie is loving being a BIG BRO!"

Dustin also shared a family snap to his own Instagram page, as he wrote: "And then there were four. Our second son, Phoenix Rose Black-Daley, arrived at 3:34pm on March 28, 2023."

Tom and Dustin met back in 2013 in Los Angeles and went on to tie the knot in 2017 in Bovey Castle in the Dartmoor National Park.
