In a video taken by an onlooker, the Oscar-winning actor and the ‘Shameless’ star appear to have a lot of fun while hanging out together at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
AceShowbiz –Tom Hanks isn’t cutting all ties with his son Chet Hanks despite his numerous issues. The Oscar-winning actor has been spotted hanging out with his embattled son at a baseball game over the weekend.
On Sunday, May 15, the “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” star and his actor/rapper son were seen watching the Dodger game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Dodger Stadium in the Elysian Park neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. The two appeared to have a blast during the outing.
In a video taken by an onlooker and obtained by TMZ, Chet was seen wrapping his arm around his father’s shoulder as they belted out “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” from their box seats during the 7th inning stretch. The duo passionately joined in on the traditional tune as Tom pumped his fists in excitement throughout the jingle.
According to the site’s source, the “Saving Mr. Banks” star had a classic approach to the game, keeping track of all the action on the diamond with an old school scorebook. They were clearly rooting for the home team, which came away victorious with 5-4 over the Phillies. Tom’s wife and Chet’s mom Rita Wilson was not seen with them in the clip.
Their outing comes several months after Chet seemed to blame his father for his shortcomings. In a YouTube video posted in February, the 31-year-old detailed how growing up as the son of the 65-year-old actor was like a double-edged sword. He also claimed that he “didn’t have a strong male role model to tell me … ‘Bro, f**k these people. They are just jealous of you.’ “
Chet later received backlash for seemingly throwing his father under the bus. The video aside, he has been embroiled in a legal battle with his ex Kiana Parker and caught in cultural appropriation allegation.
