TOWIEs Debbie Bright opens up on little fighter daughter Georgias sepsis battle

Debbie Bright has opened up about her daughter Georgia's recent battle with sepsis, as she raises awareness over the life-threatening condition.

The TOWIE star, 58, took to Instagram, where she shared some photos of Georgia as a baby and another of her in recent weeks.

In her length caption, Debbie wrote: "Not sure how I start to write this but the aim of this post is to highlight the importance of a window of opportunity you may have.

"All to often we take our health for granted, we believe our bodies are doing just fine, our health believe me is our wealth yet we fail most of the time to nurture ourselves with kindness, time and nourishment. Saying all of this it could be a tiny thing that turns out something so desperately serious we just don’t see it coming."

She continued: "My daughter Georgia become ill a few weeks ago, anyone who knows Georgia knows she’s a 100 miles an hour so when she takes to her bed it means she’s unwell.

"I moved her back with me, nursed her day and night. A visit to the doctors diagnosed with tonsillitis. Things went from bad to worse……. I rushed her to hospital where she was rushed through with SEPSIS. This week a documentary hit our screens 48,000 people die of sepsis every year [heartbroken emoji]"

"Please always look out for the following signs, difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing, rash, photophobia, abdo pain, blood in urine, confusion, jaundice, signs of stroke."

Finishing, she added: "And remember you know your child better than anyone, you know when something is wrong. I love you @xgeorgiabrightx my little fighter [heart emoji] @uksepsistrust"

Commenting on her mother's post, Georgia wrote: "I wouldn’t have been able to get through these last 2 weeks without you. My complete rock. I couldn’t possibly love you anymore [heart emoji] x]

Georgia's sister, and TOWIE star, Lydia Bright commented on the post with a trio of heart emojis.

A number of Debbie's followers shared their own experiences of sepsis in the comments, with one writing: "I caught it after pneumonia, they didn't think I would last the night – it wasn't just what I went through it was what my family went through, especially my poor husband who sat by my bed."

"Wishing her a speedy recovery Deb, my dad died of this xx" added another.

Following the post on her grid Debbie took to her Instagram Story, where she promoted the documentary Jason & Clara: In Memory of Maudie, which sees actor Jason Watkins discuss daughter Maudie's sudden death aged two from sepsis.

Debbie then continued to discuss the symptoms of the condition, writing: "Other signs of sepsis and this was all through the week, unable to get her temperature down and a violent shivering. The shivering is when your whole body is taken over.

"This is when actions are vital… I was literally screaming she has sepsis."

"I would like to thank the @nhs for saving my daughters life" Debbie finished. "But doctors… nurses and consultants please listen to the mums… dads and cares. We know them best."
