Travis Barker went to Kourtney Kardashian’s late dad’s grave to ask permission to propose

Travis Barker made sure both of Kourtney Kardashian’s parents knew of his intention to marry their daughter before proposing, with the musician making a visit to her father’s grave to ask for his blessing.

Blink-182 drummer Travis and Poosh founder Kourtney married in a surprise Vegas wedding earlier this month, but way before the couple even made it to the altar, Travis was keen to make sure he visited the late Robert Kardashian Sr.'s grave before popping the question.

In the latest episode of The Kardashians, fans got to see more of the moment when Travis, 46, telephoned Kris Jenner asking for permission to marry her 43 year old daughter.

While remembering the emotional phone call with daughter Kim Kardashian ahead of her appearance on Saturday Night Live, Kris also revealed that Travis had gone out of his way to ask Kourtney and Kim’s late father for his blessing in the marriage.

"He asked for her hand in marriage, and I was like, literally, I want to cry now," Kris, 66, said while getting her makeup done in Kim's dressing room. "It was so sweet and so tender. And then he said he went to your dad's grave and asked your dad [for permission], and I just lost it.

"It's all happy, I just wish your dad was here to see it. I can hardly believe that it's the first time that she's getting married."

"That's really crazy that she hasn't been married before," said Kim, 41, before joking, "While I've had enough for all of us!"

Robert Sr. died in September 2003 after a battle with cancer. He shared daughter Khloé Kardashian and son Rob Kardashian Jr. with Kris, in addition to Kim and Kourtney.

Kourtney and Travis got married following the Grammys in Las Vegas at the beginning of April, in an adorable ceremony complete with an Elvis impersonator.

However, she later opened up on how the wedding wasn’t technically ‘legal’ as they were unable to get a marriage license at 2am.

On a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, when host Jimmy quipped that the Las Vegas nuptials were a “fake wedding”, Kourtney said: “It's not called ‘fake married’”, to which Jimmy replied: “It is called that”.

Kourtney retorted: “There was no, like, possibility to get a marriage license at that hour.”

Kourtney’s sister Kim questioned her version of events, saying: “Isn't everything 24/7 there (Las Vegas)?”

Kourtney pressed that the couple did try to get the marriage license, saying: "That’s what I thought. I'm like, are you guys lying? We asked, like, five times. What do we have to do to make this happen?'”

Kim then alluded to her own Las Vegas wedding to producer Damon Thomas (whom she later divorced) at the tender age of 19, saying: "I feel like when I did it, it was 3 in the morning.”

The eldest Kardashian sister replied saying: “It was 2am and they were like 'it opens at 8 o’clock'.”

Despite not having an official marriage license, Kourtney gushed about the “practice wedding”, saying: “We just did it anyway. It's what's in the heart.”

Jimmy then went on to congratulate the couple, by presenting Kourtney with a number of china plates which bore prints of some of the amorous lovebirds’ PDAs.
