ITV broadcaster Charlene White, 40, has opened up on Twitter following her unexpectedly “wild” night with journalist Sir Trevor McDonald, 81, after she confessed to getting “wavy” with her colleague. The Loose Woman didn’t hold back when it came to pointing the finger over who she held responsible for her sore head and revealed she was staying well-hydrated in an effort to make it through the day.

Addressing her 48,000 followers, Charlene revealed what she had planned for today.

She wrote: “Looking forward to speaking to my former colleague (and friend of 20yrs!) @DJAce on BBC @1Xtra from 11am about mine and Sir Trevor’s documentary “Has George Floyd Changed Britain?” which airs Weds, 9pm, ITV.”(sic)

However, the star thought it only fair to give her DJ friend a word of warning about her fragile state.

“Just so you know @DJAce… I’m currently drinking a tonne of water and coffee and green juice to prepare myself for our interview,” she admitted.

Before her followers had a chance to quiz her on her heavy fluid intake, she came clean about her antics the night before.

“Why, I hear you ask?” she tweeted.

“Because Sir Trevor and I went out last night and drank waaaaaaay too much red wine,”(sic) she penned.

The Loose Women star went on to reveal that despite her hangover, she had a full day of press planned for her and Trevor’s new documentary.

Fans of the star flocked to the comments to weigh in on the host’s wild night with Trevor.

“And now *I* want to go out drinking with Sir Trevor!” one wrote.

Another added: “Oh to have been a fly on the wall during that conversation.”

While a third penned: “Red wine is always welcome and when the mood is right it’s often difficult to gauge the ‘and finally’ moment.”

One social media user simply left two laughing face emojis, to which the broadcaster replied.

Charlene wrote: “I know, right?! The fact Sir Trevor basically got me wavy the night before a full day of press for the documentary is WILD.”

The duo are presenting ITV documentary George Floyd: Has Britain Changed? together, nearly a year on from his murder.

The presenters will be talking to people across Britain to gain an insight into the experiences of people in the UK surrounding racism and a re-examination of race.

Last month the ITV newsreader reached out to colleague Ruth Dodsworth after her ex-husband was jailed for controlling and coercive behaviour towards her over a nine-year period.

Reaching out to her friend on Twitter, Charlene wrote: “Ruth, I’m so sorry for what you’ve been through.

“And full of admiration for your strength. Sending you so much love, hugs, and everything in between xx.”

Jonathan Wignall pleaded guilty to one count of coercive and controlling behaviour and stalking before he was due to stand trial. He was sentenced to three years in prison.

George Floyd: Has Britain Changed? airs tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
