The 24-year-old rapper, whose real name is Michael Lamar White II, offers a clarification after a video that surfaced online showed him and his crew quietly leaving an airplane.
AceShowbiz –Trippie Redd has set the record straight. Responding to the rumors saying he got booted off a plane for smoking weed, the “Dark Knight Dummo” rapper insisted that it wasn’t the case as he blamed a flight attendant for what happened.
In a video surfacing online on Monday, July 3), the 24-year-old artist could be seen leaving the plane along with his crew. On the following day, he offered a clarification on Instagram Story, saying he and his entourage deboarded because the flight attendant allegedly disrespected them.
“I see media outlets keep reaching,” Redd began in his video. “I never got kicked off a plane for trying to smoke weed. I had smoked weed before I got on the flight and my homie, he smelled like weed in the back of the plane and I heard the flight attendant say something.”
“So I walked to the back to see what was up lady got yelling at me. I left, I went and got a private jet,” the rhymer, whose real name is Michael Lamar White II, continued. “Honestly, I feel like the flight attendants always got like some type of attitude or some type of animosity like they hate their job or something.”
Redd went on to note that he decided to book himself and his crew a private plane following the incident. “I was pretty fine, I’m fine with flying first class but you know when I feel like I’m disrespected or I’m not welcome, I will go fly private because I feel like you know, I gotta get to my bag if I’m going to pick up [$350,000], [$20,000],” he elaborated. Ain’t s**t. Put some respect on it.”
American Airlines has yet to issue a statement regarding the matter.
