Ulrika Jonsson accused of endangering kids after bringing two 'strange' men home

Ulrika Jonsson has revealed she was contacted by her son’s school and accused of ‘endangering’ her kids after bringing home two strangers after a boozy night out recently.

The Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star documented a night out with her daughter Bo, with resulted in her being chucked out of a bar after drunkenly falling over multiple times.

Sharing her exploits on Instagram, the mum-of-four confessed that there is a lot she doesn’t ‘remember’ from her evening out, later joking the next day she ‘didn’t know’ who the two men sleeping in her house were.

Seemingly someone was keeping an eye on the Celebs Go Dating star’s Instagram, with Ulrika revealing she’s been left ‘raging, internally and externally’ at an accusation she put her children in danger.

The star explained the details behind her post, in which she conceded she was escorted out of the bar by a bouncer ‘for her own safety’ and was reunited with her handbag not long after, also revealing the two 21-year-old men who stayed over were close friends of her daughter from school.

Still, despite support and hilarious comments from her followers, Ulrika singled out one who suggested she had put both her own and her daughter’s ‘life at risk’ by inviting strangers home.

Ulrika fumed in her column for The Sun: ‘What infuriated me about this sad Karen was not only that she was clearly in dire need of a good night out, nor that she didn’t know the facts but chose to comment anyway, but that she was carrying on the patriarchal narrative that a woman should avoid having an “unknown” man in her home for fear of being raped or attacked.

‘Once again, making it the woman’s prerogative AND responsibility to protect herself, NOT the job of a man to behave appropriately.

‘Even if, in my wildest dreams, I wanted to bring two men back to my house, I should be quite within my moral and sexual rights to do so.’

Ulrika then noted she received a call from her 13-year-old son’s Safeguarding Officer, asking whether he had been in the house at the time the men were there, after they noticed the star’s social media posts, but, in her words, were ‘blissfully and lazily unaware of the facts’.

She asked whether ‘non-celebrity’ parents are ‘monitored’ like she is, as well as whether she’d receive the same call if she was a man bringing two women home, or if her daughter had a party at her house and similarly people stayed over, as well as wondering where the call from the Safeguarding Officer was when Ulrika had been open about her mental health struggles online.

She wrote: ‘But the saddest thing about the whole affair is that a sense of humour seems to have fallen out of everyone’s behind. I joked on Instagram about there being two strange men sleeping upstairs and that I hoped my daughter knew who they were — swiftly followed by a wry smile.

‘Do you seriously think I’d post publicly about something like that if I thought my children’s safe-guarding might be compromised? I mean, come on!’

Insisting safeguarding is a serious issue, Ulrika went on to add that while she won’t grow old ‘gracefully’ she would also never put her children’s safety at risk.

However, she adamantly mused that it was sexist to suggest she shouldn’t have ‘strange’ men at her house under the guise of protecting herself, ‘rather than us continuing to implore men to learn to behave appropriately around women’, adding the ‘narrative’ needed to change.

In posts to her social media earlier this week, Ulrika had revealed: ‘So… about last night. There’s just so much I don’t remember.

‘I’ve come home with a bruised, swollen, sore wrist, with scratches on it. I also have a really sore a**e from falling over.

‘Bo and I went for a drink and bumped into a group of girls I’ve never, ever met before, and kind of hi-jacked their evening. I apologise…

‘And then drank and danced, and then I fell over three times.’

‘I got marched out by security and I’m barred, I think,’ she continued. ‘I’m thinking this is a good result for a 54-year-old, it shows I’ve still got a bit of life in me.

‘Also I think we got a McDonalds on the way back home, and there are two men sleeping upstairs.’

She added later about the guests: ‘Dunno who they are.’

Sharing a glimpse at her scratched arm, Ulrika added: ‘I just don’t know what happened #liability.’
