Presenter Vanessa Feltz has teased what viewers can expect from her upcoming appearance in Celebs Go Dating which is set to air later this year.
The 61-year-old broadcaster was chatting to Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on This Morning when they began to ask about her experience so far on the celebrity dating show.
At first Vanessa was adamant “I can’t tell you a single thing”. But as Alison and Dermot quizzed her a bit more, she spilled a few details on what she's been up to.
She said: “17 years I haven’t been on a date but I have to be the person who chooses to do this with about 12 cameras” and “the people I date giving feedback, I mean who needs that?”
“I’ve been on six dates already,” Vanessa added. “And I’m halfway through the show”, “I’ve got a date tonight, another date on Friday”.
Vanessa also expressed how she finds dating “difficult” especially when “reading the signals” of her dates and explained that her presenting job is making the experience tough, “if I do ask questions they say ‘oh she was interviewing me’”.
In February 2023, Vanessa split from her long-term partner and fiancé Ben Ofoedu after finding out he had been unfaithful during their 16-year relationship. They had been engaged since December 2006.
Prior to that Vanessa was married to surgeon Michael Kurer in 1983 before divorcing in 2000, the pair share two daughters.
On the show, Dermot then turned to Alison and asked about her own experience on Celebs Go Dating which she appeared on in 2020.
Alison said: “I loved it” and added the producers “really look after you”.
During the show, Alison met audio technician Ben Fusi and they briefly dated afterwards before their relationship fizzled out.
“We went off to the Dominican Republic,” recalled Alison. “Got a holiday – you go on loads of dates, choose who you want to go on holiday with and take them across” to which Vanessa was shocked by.
Alison then asked “Has the first date paid yet?”
“They’ve paid I think,” replied Vanessa. “But most of the time I can’t eat anyway, I’m too nervous”.
Anna Williamson and Paul C. Brunson alongside client coordinator Tom Read Wilson will return to help six famous faces find love on the popular E4 reality show.
Alongside Vanessa are Lottie Moss, Love Island stars Adam Collard and Chloe Burrows, as well as Made in Chelsea's Mark-Francis Vandelli and comic Spuddz.
