Watch as Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh unpacks her nappy bag – from unique toy to essentials

Emmerdale star Amy Walsh has shared the unusual contents of Bonnie’s baby bag and has predicted her daughter's future as a “baker” or “musician”.

The actress and her EastEnders fiancé delved deep into the Mary Poppins-style bag to retrieve essentials including a special gift from Toby-Alexander Smith's co-star Lorraine Stanley, who plays Karen Taylor, a pair of maracas and kitchen items.

In an adorable video filmed as part of their OK! shoot to celebrate Bonnie’s first Christmas and first birthday on December 27, Amy explained: “She’s obsessed with books. This is the Fox’s socks. We’ve got loads of this style and the flaps lift up and she’s learnt to do it pretty rapidly. She’s also learnt how to pull them apart and eat them.”

Revealing the second item, Toby continued: “I don’t know why but you came home one day with maracas and it turned out to be one of her favourite things to play with. She could be a little musician couldn't she?”

“She's musical like her dad,” added Bonnie.

Despite having “millions of toys”, Amy – who is the sister of Girls Aloud star Kimberley – said Bonnie preferred household goods and which had led to her being loving nicknamed ‘the astronaut’.

Amy said: “She’s got a million toys and this mixing bowl from the kitchen and this wooden spoon are one of her favourites. Most of the time she’s got it on her head so we’ve started calling her ‘the astronaut’.”

She continued, “And these are my measuring spoons for when I bake – you know how babies are obsessed with keys? It acts as that. She’s going to be a baker!”

“Watch out Mary Berry!” Toby added.

At the top of Bonnie’s most-loved essentials is an Upsy Daisy doll from kids TV show In The Night Garden – a gift bestowed on the tot by Toby’s former EastEnders colleague Lorraine. He left the soap in March after three years playing serial killer Gary Atkins.

Pulling out the doll, Amy said: “Upsy Daisy! Your friend from EastEnders got us this didn’t she? Lorraine Stanley and Bonnie loves it.

The doll has been such a hit with Bonnie, her famous parents are planning her whole first birthday around it – with an Upsy Daisy themed tea party, including homemade cake and Amy’s other sister Sally dressing up as the character.

In their full interview, Amy explained: “For Bonnie’s birthday on the 27th, we’re planning an In The Night Garden themed tea party at my mum’s house. I’m making a themed cake and I’m trying to persuade my sister Sally to dress up as Upsy Daisy.

"She owes me one as I dressed up as Olaf from Frozen for her! She’s obsessed with Upsy Daisy, but she constantly changes her mind about what she’s into. I’m not a great planner so I’ll have to really up my game for my child’s first birthday!

On their first Christmas plans for Bonnie, she added: “This will be my first Christmas ever without my family. We usually do Christmas at my sister Kimberley's house – it’s like Home Alone! There are eight adults, my seven nephews and a belter of a turkey – lots of fun. This year we’re spending it with Toby’s family, which will be lovely and intimate.”
