William is absolutely apoplectic about Harrys doc: Hes very hurt and angry

Prince William is “absolutely apoplectic” about his brother Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix documentary and the claims Harry has made against him, according to a royal expert.

Speaking exclusively to OK!, Katie Nicholl says that the Prince of Wales is “very hurt and very angry” about the docuseries, which sees the couple drop a series of bombshells about the Royal Family.

This includes Harry’s claims that William “screamed and shouted” at him during a Sandringham summit about his and Meghan’s desire to step back from their royal roles.

"It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me, and my father say things that just simply weren't true, and my grandmother, you know, quietly sit there, and sort of take it all in,” Harry says.

Katie, author of The New Royals, tells us: “I think it was pretty shocking to see Harry attack his brother in such a public way. I think the one of the most damaging claims in all this is William’s outburst and how Harry was allegedly terrorised by William shouting.

“I know from sources close to the Prince of Wales that he is absolutely apoplectic about what Harry has done and feels deeply betrayed, very hurt and very angry.”

She continues: “The greatest irony in all this is Harry is attacking the media and yet he is using the media to attack his brother specifically and his family.

“He’s called his brother a bully essentially, called his father a liar, and yet doesn’t seem to realise either the irony or the hypocrisy in all this.”

Adding that neither William, who attended a Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey last night, or any other members of the Royal Family are likely to respond to the comments made in the documentary, Ms Nicholl says she thinks this the right route for the royals to take.

“Harry knows full well William isn’t going to retaliate. I think the palace’s stance of never complain, never explain in this instance is absolutely the right strategy because if they comment they will only fuel the narrative and allow the story more oxygen to run.

“I think by saying nothing it’s a dignified silence.”

Ms Nicholl also goes onto to describe what a detrimental effect Harry and Meghan’s words are on The Firm.

“This goes by beyond just point settling. This is about the reputation of the royal family on the international stage and it is damaging it,” she says.

“You’ve got Charles in the early months of his reign and you’ve got a forthcoming coronation and here is a family member who has gone rogue and is putting the spotlight on the institution for all the wrong reasons.

“Who is essentially setting up a rival court in Hollywood which I think is a very real threat to the monarchy. Whilst I think in this instance the palace’s lack of response is the right thing, there needs to be a shot across the bow from the palace to Harry and Meghan that this is not going to be tolerated and this has to stop.”

Other revelations in the docuseries include Meghan revealing it was The Queen and the now King Charles who convinced her to write a letter to her estranged father Thomas Markle to try and sort things out between them.

She said: "I reached out to her Majesty and said this is what's going on, what do you want me to do? I want to… Whatever advice you have.

"But ultimately it was suggested by the Queen and the Prince of Wales that I write my dad a letter and i had gone to great lengths to get that letter to my dad discreetly."
