Mike Myers may do fourth Austin Powers movie saying fans will see ‘Dr Evil soon’

Mike Myers may finally do a fourth Austin Powers movie – more than three years after he said the film was “looking good”.

The Hollywood actor made a “non-confirmed confirmation” he will again play the Swinging Sixties secret agent as well as nemesis Dr Evil and Scots henchman Fat Bastard.

The 58-year-old teased: “I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not exist.”

Myers, who also wrote and produced the Austin Powers trilogy, said in November 2018 fans were “gonna see Dr Evil soon”.

With the last in series being released 20 years ago, he explained: “I’ve had three kids under the age of seven and the films take a long time to write.”

The character was created to honour his dad, a Liverpudlian who died, aged 59, in 1991 from an Alzheimer’s related illness.

Myers said: “Powers was a tribute to my father, who introduced me to James Bond, Peter Sellers, The Beatles, plus Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.

"I was devastated by his death. But to turn it into something that makes people happy is unbelievably satisfying.”
