Helen Flanagan stranded in Greece as she’s caught in air traffic control chaos

Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan is among the many passengers who have been impacted by airport delays today (29 August).

Travellers both in the UK and overseas have found themselves stranded or facing delays due to a technical problem that struck the nationwide air traffic control system this week.

Even though the issue was resolved within a few hours, airlines and airports cautioned that considerable delays would still persist, and Helen was one of the many passengers affected.

The 32-year-old actress provided regular updates to her followers on social media as she kept her three children – Matilda (aged seven), Delilah (aged five), and two-year-old Charlie – entertained at the airport.

In a Greek airport, the Corrie star took to her Instagram page to share a clip of herself blowing bubbles for her children while they sat on the floor, awaiting their flight.

Soon after, Helen and her friend shared a selfie with her 1 million followers to announce the cancellation of their flight.

According toSky News, there were at least 281 flights cancelled on Tuesday at the UK's six busiest airports, including: Gatwick, Heathrow, and Manchester.

Nevertheless, theBBCreported that Wizz Air had indicated that none of its flights were included in today's cancellation.

Aviation analytics company Cirium reported that a combined sum of 790 departures and 785 arrivals were cancelled at all airports in the UK yesterday (28 August).

This accounted for approximately 27% of the scheduled flights, resulting in the impact on roughly a quarter of a million individuals.

As a result, the Eurostar has reportedly been laying on extra trains with connections from the UK to France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The soap star left the UK behind last week , embarking on a vacation with her three children, whom she had with her former fiancé Scott Sinclair, to savour the final moments of the summer season.

She had been updating her fans of her Greece trip on social media throughout her entire stay.

Earlier this year, Helen participated as a contestant on I'm a Celebrity… South Africa.

She departed the show on the 12th day, achieving a shared seventh place, as part of a dual elimination with EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney.
