Anti-5G jewellery that ‘wards off wireless tech’ is found to be radioactive

A Dutch nuclear safety agency has warned against the use of an anti-5G pendant that has been marketed towards conspiracy theorists, after it turned out to be radioactive enough to potentially damage tissue and DNA.

The Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS) has asked people to discontinue wearing the pendant.

This comes after the authority discovered 10 products which emitted the harmful ionising radiation – the matter that the pendant is advertised as protecting customers from.

The jewellery was promoted as "quantum pendants" with "protective powers" acting as radiation blockers with negative-ion properties.

The ANVS warned that continued everyday use of the pendant could cause serious harm.

In a bid to warn the public, the agency said: “Exposure to ionising radiation can cause adverse health effect …

"Due to the potential health risk they pose, these consumer products containing radioactive materials are therefore prohibited by law.

“Ionising radiation can damage tissue and DNA and can cause, for example, a red skin. Only low levels of radiation have been measured on these specific products.”

They added: “However, someone who wears a product of this kind for a prolonged period (a year, 24 hours a day) could expose themselves to a level of radiation that exceeds the stringent limit for skin exposure that applies in the Netherlands.

“To avoid any risk, the ANVS calls on owners of such items not to wear them from now on.”

5G tech, that is designed for super fast internet speeds and bigger network capacity, is considered to be safe for use.

owever conspiracy theorists link the technology to dire health effects such as terminal illnesses and lowered immune systems in ties to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) states on its website, research on wireless technologies from across the entire radio spectrum have shown “no adverse health effects”.

They have said “Tissue heating is the main mechanism of interaction between radiofrequency fields and the human body.

“Radiofrequency exposure levels from current technologies result in negligible temperature rise in the human body. Provided that the overall exposure remains below international guidelines, no consequences for public health are anticipated.”
