An expert on the legendary Bigfoot has hit out at "reckless" claims suggesting that elusive sightings have just been of bears.
Thomas Marcum, a long-standing expert on urban legends and the phenom of the forest, has since hit out at those sceptical of the beastly Bigfoot's existence.
Recent reports comparing Bigfoot sightings to that of black bears on their hind legs have been rubbished by the Crypto Crew expert, who said those who believed such a claim were "ignorant".

Expert Marcum speaks from experience and has slammed a recent research study from Floe Foxon on whether Bigfoot sightings are just "black bear populations" in the area.
Bigfoot expert Marcum said: "I have documented hundreds if not thousands of tracks and spoken with hundreds of witnesses. I can easily distinguish between black bear tracks and bigfoot tracks.
"I have been face to face with a mother black bear with four cubs and encounter bears often. These people spouting stupid nonsense about 'bigfoot is just a bear on its hind legs' need to get into the forest more.
"Some sightings may be misidentifications but to make a blanket statement like that is reckless and idiotic and takes away from a real phenomenon.
"I have personally seen the creature [Bigfoot] a handful of times and I can tell you it was no bear."

Signifying factors were noted by expert Marcum, who stands by his information and asserted that Bigfoot was very real and very much out there.
He continued: "Bigfoot is very real, the evidence is there and all witnesses and investigators can do is present it and tell about what they saw.
"We can not make some 'stuffed shirt' or 'couch potato', who most likely has a very narrow-minded view on the subject and limited forest experience, or any sceptic accept it."
For Marcum, claims of Bigfoot being reports of black bear sightings are a litmus test as the expert said it showed they had "not truly looked into the phenomenon, and has very limited outdoor, in-the-forest, off the trail, experience."
