The tech mogul arrived at Downing Street late on Monday where he was joined by 19 other business magnates for dinner with Boris Johson. The group of 20 business leaders was invited to London ahead of the Global Investment Summit at the Science Museum, where Mr Johnson will make the case for investing in Brexit Britain’s future. As he arrived at the event, a mob of angry protestors was seen swarming cars and chanting “arrest Bill Gates”.
The multi-billionaire is understood to have been joined by Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan and Chase, as well as the top executives of Barclays and Santander.
More than 200 business leaders have been invited to the summit on Tuesday, just two weeks before the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.
The event is being hosted by the Prime Minister with support from the Royal Family.
And following dinner last night, the Government has said that Mr Johnson will announce £9.7billion in foreign investment later today.
The investment will help pave the way for Britain to hit net zero emissions by the year 2050 with a focus on carbon capture and storage, hydrogen energy, as well as offshore wind power.
The Government also believes the money will help create some 30,000 jobs across the country.
The investment package consists of 18 deals, including a lucrative contract to invest in wind farms through ScottishPower’s East Anglia hub.
The project, which was first announced in 2019, could power more than 2.7 million homes once operational.

Last week, the Government announced it has already secured nearly £6billion in foreign investment since launching Mr Johnson’s 10 Point Plan for a green revolution.
Since the plan was launched, figures published by the Department for International Trade show at least 56,000 high-quality jobs have already been secured across the UK.
Speaking ahead of today’s summit, the Prime Minister said the world’s leading investors have seen “massive potential” for growth in the UK.
He said: “The fantastic £9.7billion of new investment we have secured today will power our economic recovery, creating thousands of jobs and helping to level up across the country.
“This is just the start. We will see new partnerships for green growth forged at today’s Global Investment Summit, as we look ahead to COP26 and beyond.”
Mr Johnson will open the summit with International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan today and will later host a panel discussion with Mr Gates.
The pair will discuss the global effort to curb greenhouse emissions and the phasing out of fossil fuels in favour of renewables and green energy.
Last month the Prime Minister told a United Nations assembly the humanity is reaching a “turning point” on climate change and the time for action is now.
Ahead of the business summit, Chancellor Rishi Sunak has also claimed Britain faces a “new age of optimism”.
He said: “I believe that Britain is once again on the cusp of a new age of optimism.
“Our goal is nothing less than for this country to be the most exciting and dynamic place in the world for you to do business.
“This is a bold claim. But I’m confident about this country’s future.”
