Boy claims Elon Musk reported him on Twitter after mocking ‘avocado toast’ diet

A 15-year-old boy has claimed that Elon Musk pulled down one of his tweets after the youngster mocked the billionaire's diet.

Eric Zhu, a young software entrepreneur, shared a screenshot of a message from Twitter after he apparently violated 'hateful conduct' rules on the platform.

"Are you kidding me right now?" he tweeted alongside the screenshot denoting the ban on one of his tweets, poking fun at Musk, 50.

That tweet read: "Maybe if Elon Musk didn't buy avocado toast he wouldn't be asking us for $8."

Zhu was referencing the fact that Musk, Twitter owner, had indicated a verified account in the future could cost $8 (£6.66) a month.

And Zhu confirmed to the Daily Star that Twitter did in fact take down his tweet.

"Sadly it's true. Twitter does sentiment analysis really well," he said.

Sentiment analysis refers to identifying as well as classifying the sentiments that are expressed in the text source, according to Analytics Vidhya.

And Eric's slap on the wrist came just hours before Musk professed, yet again, to champion free speech – one of his main drivers for buying Twitter.

"This is a battle for the future of civilization. If free speech is lost even in America, tyranny is all that lies ahead," he said.

Last year business newsletter Morning Brew tweeted that Musk's huge net worth could be the result of cutting back on stuff like avocado toast and buying coffee from shops.

"I kinda like avocado toast & pro level coffee tbh :)" he replied.

Avocado toast has become a flashpoint for a generational argument where often middle aged homeowners say that the younger generation could buy their own home if they cut back on things that are seen as millennial, like flat whites and avocado toast.
