A bride married one of her relatives after the groom got drunk and didn't make it to the alter on time.
The bizarre wedding took place last Friday (April 22) in Buldhana district of Maharashtra, India, in the village of Malkapur Pangra.
Preparations were in place for the ceremony to start at 4pm but as time ticked on the bride and her family were left waiting for her partner.
The groom and his pals, who the bride's family said were out drinking and dancing, eventually arrived at the venue at 8pm.
By the time they got there they were extremely drunk and started causing problems for other guests.
"The groom and his friends were drunk and came to the mandap at 8pm instead of 4pm and started fighting. We got my daughter married to one of our relatives," said the bride's mum.
The bride's dad simply refused to allow his daughter to marry the drunk groom, but as all the wedding preparations were already in place he came up with a backup plan.
After he consulted one of their relatives who had arrived as a guest it was decided that they would fill in.
The bride's dad said: "The wedding ceremony was supposed to be on April 22, the groom’s side were busy dancing.
"The wedding time was at 4pm but they reached the venue at 8pm. So, I got my daughter married to one of my relatives."
It wasn't the only peculiar wedding to take place last week either, as this comes after a woman married her pet cat in London.
Mum-of-two Deborah Hodge, 49, held the strange ceremony to stop landlords forcing her to get rid of her 5-year-old moggy India.
"By marrying India, I need any future landlords to know that we come as a package and we cannot be separated under any circumstances as she is as important to me as the children," she said.
