Camel with ‘love of chips’ arrives at takeaway drive-thru window

A camel gave fast food workers an unforgettable night as it rocked up to the drive-thru window for chips.

It may have been a Tuesday night but In-N-Out Burger staff in Las Vegas, US, were treated to a real hump day on October 4.

Rather than wandering in from the Nevada desert, dromedary camel Fergie was escorted to get a salty snack by her handler, Brandon Nobles.

Brandon rescued the 14-year-old mammal from a home in Colorado and has since paraded her to various fast food restaurants where countless heads have been turned.

Over the course of visits to the likes of Wendy's and Einstein Bros Bagels, Fergie has developed something of a taste for chips.

Brandon said: "She loves the French fries."

Nobles told onlookers Fergie is a 14-year-old camel rescued from her former home in Colorado.

The camel is a star feature of Brandon's Jeffrys Farm Instagram account which boasts a following of over 1,500 animal lovers.

"We love our neighbors and how supportive they are of Fergie and her adventures!," Brandon captioned a photo of Fergie in a sports shop.

Following a clip of the camel's trip to Wendy's in August, Brandon wrote: "Fergie strikes again!! We made lots of friends with at our friendly neighborhood Wendy’s!"

Another animal revered by its human community was a so-called sacred crocodile which swam the pond of the same temple for 70 years.

Babiya the 'vegetarian' crocodile attained a divine status by scoffing offerings of rice and jaggery at Sree Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Temple at Kumbla in Kasaragod district, Kerala, India.

On Sunday night the reptile was found lifeless in the shrine's pond and was taken by temple staff who kept it in a mobile freezer to delay Babiya's corpse rotting until mourners had a chance to say their farewells.
