Chilling ‘Michael Myers’ sighting solved as masked man with bloody knife tackled

Chilling snapshots were reviewed by police after a man dressed as Michael Myers was spotted on a beach holding a bloody knife.

While obviously not the terrifying entity that stalked Lorie Strode in the John Carpenter series of Halloween films, it did prove cause for concern to those in the area.

Police attended the scene of the ominous sighting, where they found a man dressed in a boiler suit and wearing the face of the famous horror movie villain, brandishing a bloody knife.

Stopping by the beach after a number of reports on the worrying presence of the scary character, police intervened.

What they found was a lawyer, Mark Metzger, who was dressed up as Michael Myers and brandishing a fake, bloodied knife for a series of pictures for his Facebook account.

The incident, which took place in September last year, shocked locals, with Metzger subsequently put in handcuffs for his chilling prank.

Viral posts at the time showed Metzger walking on the beach and subsequently being handcuffed by responding officers, who didn't take too kindly to reports of a veteran horror character stalking the stormy beaches of Galveston, United States.

Still, Metzger was defiant following his arrest and criticised police for handcuffing him.

He said at the time he was trying to spread a bit of "positive vibes to the gloom and doom out there" and his intention had been good-natured, Galvnews reported.

Metzger, posing as Myers, was hoping to generate "some laughter, helping people crack a smile, and restoring our faith in humanity through humour".

As far as humour goes, depicting a horror character whose most recent appearance saw him wreak havoc on small town citizens was as strange choice.

Metzger added: "If taking a silly walk down the beach during a storm in a costume, and subsequently being arrested for disorderly conduct accomplished any of that… then I’d do it again all day every day."
