Danger tourist ‘crossed borders illegally’ to see girlfriend only to get dumped

A barmy Brit adventurer who likes to jet off to war-torn countries for the thrill says he crossed several borders illegally to see his girlfriend, only to be dumped on the phone before he got there.

Going by the name Lord Miles Routledge Adventures under the Twitter handle @real_lord_miles, the explorer gave the sad update to his 130,000 followers.

"My gf broke up with me, I need a few days guys," he wrote..

Miles added he even broke his ankle while trekking to see his girlfriend, before she then broke up with him over the phone. It's not clear where he was travelling.

"The worst thing was this 10 day trip was me crossing multiple borders illegally to see her so she doesn’t have to come and see me," he tweeted.

"I fractured my ankle doing so. It’s going to be a long night guys. I can’t believe it was over a phone call too."

A few days after his dramatic break-up, Miles updated his Twitter following.

"I’m no longer upset, annoyed maybe but not upset," he said. "I see clearly and must move forward.

"There will be others and I will be a father. Adventure has made a man of me."

He added he'd give himself three to six months before he started looking for a new relationship as his "hairline isn't getting any thicker" – but perhaps the search will be fairly difficult with his perilous character and hobbies in mind.

Miles said: "I need to get huge in the gym and improve myself in every way possible, I cannot let this get its pound of flesh from me."

The Brit student, from Birmingham, is most well known for being evacuated during the Taliban offensive and fall of Kabul, Afghanistan, in 2021 after Googling "the most dangerous cities to visit".

He was branded "selfish" after he secured an escape from war-torn Afghanistan on an evacuation flight to the United Arab Emirates.

According to The Independent, one Facebook user posted: "Selfish actions, your seat on a plane home should have been given to an Afghan interpreter who now faces certain death."

He's also travelled to other dangerous hotspots including the Ukraine during full-blown war and Kazakhstan – where he previously told the Daily Star he didn't feel quite safe.

"[I feel] not too safe," he told the Daily Star at the time. "The Russians have zero tolerance and are highly trained.

"When I was in Afghanistan and South Sudan I knew the Taliban and African Forces were disorganised and ill-trained but these Russians are explicitly instructed to shoot to kill at any sign of trouble, they could do a great deal of harm if the orders from higher up changed."
