Sex robot fans are offering to donate money for futuristic dolls to be built sooner.
RealDoll which manufactures and sells a range of life-like male and female sex dolls has been hit with requests from customers eager to bolster the company's funds.
In its latest social media post on Monday night, the San Diego, California-based business was asked by followers, if they could help fund the development of robots.
Excited at the sight of a work in progress, a couple of Instagram followers expressed their desire to 'speed up' getting new high-tech dolls onto the market.
With a desire for artificial intelligence topping the demands of one customer, comments suggested they were not even bargaining for a financial return on their investment.
Another said they had even searched for a site to donate their hard-earned cash.
One person wrote: "I checked to see if the realdoll company has a gofundme page to speed up the progress of these talking AI dolls!"
Around four hours later, another follower asked: "How can we donate money for more advancements."
RealDoll has established itself as one of the dominant forces in the sex robot market thanks to its dolls which look and apparently feel like humans.
The pleas for more technology to be implemented into their products comes after the company hinted at being able to make them "glow".
It wrote on social media: "Beauty marks and tasteful makeup aren't the only things that make our dolls glow, can you guess what else? #realdoll".
Last week RealDoll also showed off its diverse range of dolls with a snap of an elderly model.
Unlike its other robots, it greying hair, wrinkled features, and is dressed in a blue checkered shirt.
The photo was uploaded with the caption: “Okay we get daddy issues, but this might be a whole new level…”
Company rep Brick Dollbanger told the Daily Star that it was a “special build” for a client.
One user responded: “If I could I would purchase one like this for my mom.”
