SpaceX founder Elon Musk yesterday revealed the company has been deploying satellites with "lasers" into orbit.
The entrepreneur and Tesla founder posted a photo of the "Starlinks" yesterday on Twitter which received nearly 80,000 likes in less than a day.
Satellites from the aerospace manufacturer have been launched into orbit since 2019 when the company launched 60 of around 12,000 planned satellites into orbit for its Starlink project.
His tweet gathered plenty of replies, with most referencing the infamous Austin Powers "lasers" scene with replies and GIFs sent directly to Musk.
One Twitter user referenced the scene, saying: "Freaking satellites with lasers attached to their freaking frame."
Another said: "Definitely better than sharks with lasers Elon," linking a GIF to the 1990s spy parody film.
Some users praised the tech billionaire for the launch and lasers, while others asked what the "lasers function" was.
The tweet comes after Musk recently revealed his personal deadline of a decade for putting a man on the surface of Mars, something Musk has been attempting since 2011.
Musk said the "worst-case scenario" for having a man on the moon would be ten years from now, with the best-case being five.

In an interview with Lex Fridman, he said: "Starship is the most complex and advanced rocket that has ever been made by an order of magnitude or something. It's a lot. It's really next level.
"Right now you can fly to Mars for $1 trillion. No amount of money could get you a ticket to Mars. So we need to get that like something that is actually possible at all.
"But we don't just want to have with Mars flags and footprints and not come back for a half-century like we did with the Moon. I think we need to be a multi-planet species."
