The video marked the first update on the starship in two years as the company gears up for its first test flight in orbit. In the five-minute video, Elon Musk shared his ambitious vision for what astronauts on board the SpaceX Starship will see on their way to the Red Planet. Musk released the footage on his personal Twitter page with the caption: “This will be real in our lifetime.”
The video narrates the whole journey from Earth with astronauts aboard the Starship up until its arrival to Mars.
In the footage, a thriving human settlement can be seen as having been established on the planet.
SpaceX said the space shuttle is “a fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicle” that is “key to a future in which humanity is out exploring the stars.”
Elon Musk’s company is now preparing to conduct its first-ever orbital test.

The test will launch out of Starbase in Texas to embark on an hour-and-a-half journey around Earth.
The SpaceX Starship is then expected to land off the cost of Hawaii.
In his update, Musk said SpaceX is not expecting to hear confirmation about the test soon.
SpaceX is waiting for the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conclude an environmental assessment of the South Texas site where the company is currently building and launching its Starship vehicles.

The assessment was originally set to conclude on December 31 but was pushed back the completion date to February 28.
The FAA this week announced another delay and the final safety report will be released on March 28.
He said: “We have gotten a rough indication that there may be an approval in March”.
“We actually are approved from an environmental standpoint to launch from 39A.

“So I guess our worst-case scenario is that we would, I don’t know, be delayed for six to eight months to build up the Cape launch tower and launch from there.”
SpaceX is hoping to open further bases other than Starbase in the future to carry out additional launches.
Musk said during his update the company is looking into modifying two deep-sea oil rigs to use as launch towers for SpaceX Starship, which requires substantially-large pads.
The Starship is made up of a first-stage booster, the Super Heavy, and a 165-foot-tall spacecraft called simply Starship.
