Facebook users are just discovering how to restore deleted photos
Facebook users who have accidentally had their photos deleted are able to restore them with a couple of simple hacks.
A large number of users launched complaints last week after claims that the platform was mysteriously deleting photos off people’s profiles.
Some seem to believe that photos were wiped tended to be organised into folders or were uploaded via mobile.
Whereas others have claimed all of their snaps were completely erased, some of which have been up for over a decade.
One user, James Koopman, told The Sun that their photos gradually started disappearing before his entire collection vanished off the face of his profile.
The only photos that remained were ‘yesterday’s uploads’ and that was ‘devastated’.
Many users have had photos on Facebook for years and use it as a digital album.
Tech-savvy Reddit users leapt to the rescue and have suggested two simple hacks in order to retrieve deleted pictures.
1. Go to Settings
To restore any deleted photos users can click on the settings panel in the top right of the screen.
To do the method through the Facebook web app, the user must go to Settings and Privacy
You will be greeted with a number of options including Messages, Marketplace, Friends, Dating and more.
2. Find ‘Memories’
When on the Settings panel, scroll down until you find ‘Memories’ which has a clock logo next to it.
Reddit users have found a way of restoring images through the memories tab (pictured) once they have been deleted off a Facebook profile
Once in there, a list of your memories should appear which should feature any photos that have been previously shared.
From here the images can also be saved back onto the smartphone for safe keeping.
3. Web app
Another way of doing it is to log into the Facebook web app on Facebook.com before opening up the ‘Settings & Privacy’ tab and clicking on ‘Your Facebook Information’.
Once that’s been clicked on, the user must find ‘Your Facebook Information’ where they can transfer copies of their information to their chosen destination
The options include a number of destinations including Google Photos and Dropbox
Once the destination has been selected, a copy of the information can be transferred over
The user will then be greeted with the option to download their information to a chosen destination, this includes .
Once the required details have been filled in, any previously deleted photos can be restored.
