Four people who have made chilling predictions about an alien invasion of Earth

History is full of prophets, psychics and soothsayers who have come up with all kinds of predictions about the future.

One lingering prophecy that has been around for hundreds of years is that of an alien invasion of our planet. There are of course hundreds of people who have made such predictions, some even giving specific dates regarding when it will happen.

While many of these predictions have fallen flat on their faces, the credentials of some of the individuals making these predictions have lent credence to the idea that an alien invasion could be imminent. Here are four individuals whose predictions should be taken seriously.

Baba Vanga was a blind mystic and herbalist from Bulgaria who spent most of her life between 1911 and 1996 making alarming predictions about the future.

Before her death, Baba Vanga prophesied that at the end of 2022, aliens will invade Earth by sending an asteroid to seek out life on our planet, and the result won’t be a good one for humans. Underlining that the aliens will not come in peace, Baba Vanga said: “Alien ships will attack Earth and they will bomb cities and take people captive.”

While Baba Vanga had correctly predicted other world events in the past, including the 9/11 attacks, the 2004 tsunami and Barack Obama's election, she also got some predictions wrong, such as predicting that Donald Trump would contract a mystery disease in 2020.

Israeli-British illusionist, magician and psychic Uri Geller is also adamant that aliens are about to invade our planet. The 75-year-old spoon-bender recently announced on Instagram: "A team mapping radio waves in the universe has discovered something unusual that releases a giant burst of energy three times an hour and it’s unlike anything astronomers have seen before.

“No doubt in my mind that this is connected to alien intelligence way way superior than ours. Start deciphering their messages! They are preparing us for a mass landing soon!”

Geller had earlier predicted that aliens would soon be making contact with humans, saying: "They will probably land on the White House lawn or somewhere. All our science fiction films about alien encounters will come true. I don’t think we are talking about thousands or even hundreds of years. If I had to guess, a rational and logical guess, I would say 60 to 75 years it’s going to happen.’’

Nick Pope is a British freelance journalist who once served the UK’s Ministry of Defence as a UFO investigator. Speaking on Blaze TV's Indistinguishable From Magic earlier this year, the UFO expert warned: "If we find aliens, or they find us, the world will change forever.”

Reminiscing on two events he attended at the Royal Society in London where the biggest issues surrounding extra-terrestrial life were discussed, Pope said: "If we do find extra-terrestrial life, and it's more than picking up a signal or finding alien microbes, will they be friendly like the lovable alien in ET, or will they be something like the aliens in Independence Day – coming here to exterminate us? Views at the Royal Society were split.”

Quoting another professor, Pope continued to warn “if the cosmic phone rings… don't answer”, adding he fears it’s already “too late” as humans have been a “detectable civilisation for decades as our television and radio signals have leaked out into space – any civilisation capable of threatening us is already aware of us."

Late English theoretical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking had some pretty concerning things to say about aliens before he died in 2018.

The scientist told the Discovery Channel in a documentary aired in 2010 that making contact with aliens might not lead to a positive outcome for humans. He said: “Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they could reach. Who knows what the limits would be?”

In another Discovery Channel documentary in 2016, he also said: “If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn’t turn out well for the Native Americans.”
