An amusing aerial shot of fields shows the shape of a penis that has left social media users in utter disbelief after it was posted on Reddit.

The post – entitled "It has to be intentional" – shows an incredibly phallic-looking field, the bulgier part of which strongly resembles a scrotum.

It was captured on Google Maps and posted to a group that celebrates unexpected findings on the tech giant's app.

The Google Maps Shenanigans community says it is "for all of the interesting, funny, or otherwise unusual things you see on Google Maps! (and other mapping software)".

It regularly features hilarious snaps of people caught on camera in unusual situations as the street view van passes by unexpectedly.

This most recent post even features a line of trees at the part of the site that would correspond to a line of pubic hair.

It comes just months after an eagle-eyed mum-of-three got the shock of her life when she found a penis-shaped island on Google Earth.

Joleen Vultaggio discovered the phallic-shaped landmass in the middle the Pacific Ocean while trawling the online world map.

The 50-year-old, from Detroit, Michigan in the US, shared its location with a Facebook group for fans of the website as proof of its existence.

The uniquely-shaped island stretches more than 500m and is part of the Trinity Islands off the coast of New Caledonia, Oceania.

She said: "I was looking around and it just popped up and I thought 'wow, that really looks like a man's parts.'"

And in June, a Google Maps user sparked hilarity after coming across an island on the site that is shaped like a penis.

The image of the phallic-shaped island was uploaded to Reddit, sparking a string of funny comments from amused people.

The body of land in an X-rated shape is one of the islands that make up the archipelago of New Caledonia, an overseas French territory in the South Pacific Ocean.
