Google Maps users spot shipwreck off North Korean coast and fear ‘nuclear sub’

Google Maps users have discovered a shipwreck off the coast of North Korea.

The sight which left Reddit users spooked was found at the coordinates of 41.715014, 129.754715 via satellite images.

It is believed to be located near a port that is full of other ships and has no Street View feature to view it with.

Redditors who were speculating what vessel the wreckage could be were left spooked following the discovery as it follows a rise in military tensions in the region.

One user replied: "It's way too big to be anything but a ship, and there is a large port very close by."

Another said: "Interesting. Maybe a submarine?"

A third added: "Occam's Razor… A rocket booster? A submarine? A rotting shipwreck."

A fourth added: "Unless it was NKs first and only nuclear sub."

The news comes following Kim Jong Un's vow to build an "invincible" military for North Korea. He also blasted the US, claiming they are the "root cause" of instability in the region.

The North Korean dictator was reviewing a rare exhibition of the hermit state's weapon systems and also accused the United States of being the "root cause" of instability in the Korean Peninsula.

He made the address flanked by a large variety of very big missiles.

It appeared to be an effort to drive a wedge between Washington and South Korea as he delivered a speech at the Defense Development Exhibition Self-Defense-2021, an event to mark the 76th birthday of the ruling Workers' party in the country.

Kim said that his country's most important objective was owning an "invincible military capability" that no one can dare to challenge.

He launched an attack on US President Joe Biden's claims that the country is not hostile towards North Korea.
