A woman reckons she was hit with a charge of 20p in a Greggs – because she didn't speak Welsh.
The customer, who identifies herself only as ”Shena P” on Tripadvisor, was in Bangor in North Wales when she visited the Greggs.
Shena says she was stung with the charge for dining in when she ordered her grub, but she claims that other people in there who were speaking Welsh weren’t charged anything extra for eating-in.
She bought a sausage roll, a vanilla slice and a cup of tea, and she says it was at that point she was charged the extra 20p.
Now Shena has slammed Greggs with a 1-star review, claiming it’s something that she’s never encountered before.
She wrote on Tripadvisor: "We visited Greggs on the high street in Bangor North Wales…… My partner and I ordered a Sausage Roll, Vanilla Slice and tea to eat/drink inside.
"However, to our surprise the young man who served told us there would be a 20p charge to sit inside.
"We have visited many Greggs shops in England and Scotland but never been charged to sit down. Is this something that is only done in North Wales? If so why?
"We noticed that all other customers that sat down around us were Welsh-speaking and none were charged 20p to sit down.”
As well as posting on Tripadvisor, she added: "I have sent a private message to Greggs regarding this matter and would like an explanation.”

But Greggs say all their stores across the whole of the UK charge different prices for people wanting to eat in.
Food taken away is VAT-free, in the same way food bought in a supermarket has no tax, but if you eat on the premises it’s classed as dining-out, and the government slaps VAT on the bill.
A spokesman for the bakery chain said: “We're legally obliged to include VAT for all for food eaten within our seating area.
"However, this isn't a one-off charge. This is per item, not per visit.”
