Hundreds of people have witnessed a baffling series of lights over Las Vegas, flooding Twitter with videos and pictures of the bizarre "UFO".
The lights were spotted by people on different sides of Sin City on Monday evening (March 1) at around 7.30pm local time.
One video, posted to Twitter by @ezstezz, shows the four lights seemingly hovering in a straight line in the distance above the Circa casino.
After more than 30 seconds, the lights seem to disappear one by one.
Circa told news outlet Mystery Wire that the lights had nothing to do with them.
Another clip shared by witness @wadecleavenger shows the objects closer up, with at least 5 of the orbs seen.
The uploader also claimed the “one of the lights disappeared”.
UFO-hunting group Contact Tour also shared a video to their Twitter of the sight, with a man behind the camera asking: “What the f*** are those?”
Speculation was rife on social media over what was behind the mysterious lights.
Many claimed the objects were authentic UFOs while others suggested they could be military flares.
Nellis Air Force Base lies on the outskirts of Las Vegas and could very well have been to blame.
But one man, who works with the Department of Homeland Security, told Mystery Wire that the lights bear no resemblance to the military flares he has experienced in the past.
He said his mother-in-law saw a “mass behind the lights, like it was one large object and not separate aircraft”.
But the Federal Aviation Administration finally revealed what they were yesterday.
They said the lights seen from the Las Vegas valley were “flares from the NW military ranges”.
It is not the first time Vegas locals have claimed to have witnessed UFOs hovering above the iconic city.
Three lights appeared in the skies in August 2020, seemingly moving in a triangular formation.
And there were also several reports in 2019 of a UFO hurtling over Vegas at speeds of "1,000mph".
