An intrepid reporter who visited what is said to be London’s most haunted train station says hairs on the back of her neck stood up after hearing eerie voices coming from the walls.
MyLondonreporter Anna Willis was given exclusive access to a strange network of dark rooms and long passageways underneath Waterloo Station, in the heart of London.
Thousands of commuters are blissfully unaware that every day they walk above what is considered the most haunted area of the station, a murky section under Platform 16.

Anna said she felt goose bumps as she heard a low murmuring coming directly from the walls.
And while she was initially terrified, her guide said that the voices were actually real and did not in fact belong to a lost soul trapped underneath the 175-year-old station
She wrote: "It was an unearthly experience, and we were all quite keen to move away from it. But then we were told the voices were real.
"The reason behind this was rather less spooky than that a ghost was trapped in the walls. Our tour guide told us that what was actually happening was that the test kit for the station's public address system had been put inside a room right next to where we were standing.

"So we were hearing the muffled voices of the announcements above us, as well as other communication going on across the station.
"However, while there was a normal – albeit boring – answer to these otherworldly voices, we were all glad to have moved on and out of that tunnel during the tour."
While Anna’s brush with the supernatural was relatively uneventful, the same can’t be said for the residents who live near Lake Lanier in northern Georgia, America.
