US President Joe Biden is dead and is being played by “several different people” including The Mask star Jim Carrey, a bizarre conspiracy theory has claimed.
The QAnon cult was created from a series of bizarre and sometimes contradictory conspiracy theories, but perhaps the strangest one so far was exposed by an interview with a Trump supporter who made the strange claim.
Speaking to Jason Selvig from satirical news organisation The Good Liars, the woman claimed that Mr Biden was dead, and the fact that he had been seen to stumble on the stairs leading up to Air Force One was evidence, in her mind, that the president was being played by Hollywood star Jim Carrey at that point.
Carrey is one of a number of people engaged in a bid to “wake people up” in America, along with another major movie star, staunch Trump supporter James Woods.
“The guy that’s doing the stand-up job of trying to wake people up, is an actor wearing a mask,” the woman insisted, adding “I mean, there are several different people playing Joe Biden at this point”.
Carrey – best known for his work in Dumb And Dumber and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective – was “being silly by falling up the stairs three different times” while wearing a convincing Biden mask, she said.
Carrey has responded to the news, simply tweeting: “Oh dear."

Several commenters expressed their disbelief that anyone could believe something so surreal: “Holy s***,” said one. “Every time I watch one of your interviews I think nothing could be crazier than that one, and then you top that by interviewing someone even crazier the next time?
“Where do these people come from? And how do they navigate through life to make it this far?”
The exact number of QAnon believers isn’t known, but supporters are very active online.
They believe in a bizarre mix of conspiracy theories, including the idea that Democratic politicians in the US drank baby blood in a secret base under a pizza restaurant in Washington DC.
Many QAnon cultists are also members of armed militias that threatened to launch a civil war in the US following Donald Trump’s defeat in the 2020 presidential elections.
That planned insurrection became the abortive assault on the US Capitol building in January 2021.
