Man spends £6k turning fire engine into campervan and takes kids to school in it

Talk about hot wheels – dad Brett Mann has turned an old fire truck into a snazzy campervan.

He even takes it to the supermarket and picks up his kids from school.

Brett, 42, always dreamed of owning his own fire engine.

Buying and restoring it cost £6,000 but kids Henry, 10, and Veronica, seven, love it – especially when Brett’s waiting with it at the school gates.

He said: “I’ve always wanted my own fire engine but never went into the service, so I wanted to have a truck that would be useful.

“That’s when we decided to convert one into a campervan.”

Brett, who is from Warwickshire, added: “We haven’t finished converting it completely as it still needs running water, but it still has loads of facilities on board.

“By the end there should be eight beds including three doubles and two single bunks.”

Inside the van there are already a number of cupboards for storage, a fridge-freezer, a shower, and a toilet.
