Mia Khalifa says everyone has ‘Spider-Man’s Spidey Senses’ in outlandish TikTok

Former porn star Mia Khalifa has bizarrely claimed that everyone has a version of Marvel comic book hero Spider-Man’s “Spidey Senses” that they are able to use.

The 30-year-old media personality, who was for a time one of the most popular porn stars in the world, took to TikTokyesterday (April 3) to make the strange claim.

She bafflingly lip-synced to a sound of Maria Carey talking about the attacks on the Twin Towers in New York in September 2001.

Mia wrote in text over the video: “When someone tries to stop me from explaining how Spider-Man’s Spidey Senses are just intuition and all of us are capable of tapping into them as long as we listen to our bodies and learn to discern that sense from an intrusive thought.”

The former adult actress referred to Spider-Man, who is known for having an intuitive sense called a “Spidey Sense” that allows him to evade danger.

TikTok users were split in response to her videos, with some agreeing with her and others lambasting her for the short clip.

One TikTok user said: “u [sic] may be onto something.”

Meanwhile, another said: “I would like to see anyone dodge attacks of any kind while blind, sense danger from miles away, or sense murderous intent from people. Please, try it.”

The science behind the “Spidey Sense” doesn’t appear to back up the former porn star’s bold claim.

National Wildlife Federation, the United State’s largest conservation charity, sarcastically said in a blogpost discussing how realistic Spider-Man’s powers are: “Spiders can detect danger coming their way with an early-warning system called eyes.”

Interestingly though, a recent paperpublished on March 29in scientific journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that orb-weaving spiders, the species featured in the classic children’s book “Charlotte’s Web”, were able to detect sounds despite not having any ears.

The species is able to “hear” using microscopic hairs on their bodies.
