Moment ‘haunted doll’ blinks as scared viewers claim it’s a ‘worst nightmare’

A woman who collects "haunted" dolls shared a video of one of them blinking and then appearing to turn to face her – with viewers branding it nightmarish.

British artist Soulmori shows the old-fashioned doll – who she has named "Marabelle" – wearing a green satin dress and bonnet.

The doll has eyelids that move and they appear to be fluttering as if moved by the wind, although Soulmori wildly claims the toy is inhabited by a ghost.

Suddenly, the doll turns with a jerky movement much like early stop-motion animation.

"I was recording my doll blinking on her own and she turned to look at me right in the face," says Soulmori, adding in the caption: "Why did she scare me like that?"

The video has been "liked" more than 230,000 times on her @soulmori TikTok and it seems to have sent a shudder down many viewers' spines, with one commenting: "This is my worst nightmare."

Soulmori told viewers not to worry, claiming Marabelle "is a friendly benevolent spirit" and blinks "when she’s happy, often to get my attention, or when I’ve just entered the room".

Despite this, many users still found the collection quite creepy, with one writing: "That one doll wearing blue at the corner staring straight into my soul though."

There were also some skeptical viewers, with one blasting: "People who believe things like this really are gullible lol."

"Lmao, why do people believe this," commented another.

Soulmori replied: "Why are you being rude about other people's spiritual beliefs?"

This comes after a man sensationally claimed he bought a doll that is "possessed by a demon" and cries tears of acid, as well as trying to set itself on fire.

Matt Paranormal claims he bought the morbid doll in an auction after hearing she was found in a house fire where the owners had died.
