A severely-deformed piglet with what looks like an elephant trunk baffled villagers after being born.
Footage taken from the farm in the Philippines shows the creature being held up to the camera.
It has two eyes but a single socket which is covered by the long body part protruding out of its forehead.
The poor creature also has a long pointy snout and another limp body part near its mouth.
Unsure on how to care for the animal, the farmer immediately called local livestock officials to help but it sadly died before staff arrived.
Livestock technician James Embate, who went to check on the animal, said: “The farmer who asked for help was confused and afraid that the other piglets could be sick so they called us.
“We tried to revive the piglet because it could help us with research but it was unfortunately dead when we arrived.
“We checked the other piglets but they were all fine as well as the mother.”
James said the piglet suffered from a birth defect that was undetected during the mother’s pregnancy.
The “elephant pig” was buried in the farmer's backyard while its siblings were given supplements to avoid the risks of African Swine Fever that is currently affecting the industry in the country.
It is not the first time a piglet has been born with a rare genetic mutation.
In May, an image surfaced of a nightmare “cyclops” creature that was born with one eye and also a trunk instead of a snout.
And at the beginning of the year, villagers flocked to worship a mutant cow born with five legs after they believed it would “bring them good luck”.
Footage showed villagers gathering on a field to take turns touching the unusual-looking cow in Surin province, northeast Thailand, on January 6.
