Residents of Oregon and Washington reported a huge tremor on the evening on Monday, February 8, which left some in a flurry. There was no major damages to buildings nor are there currently any reports of injuries, authorities have said.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) has reported a magnitude 4.0 tremor near Gresham, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA.
The earthquake took place at 21.34 local time in Oregon (5.34am GMT on February 9) just three miles bene ath the surface.
Many people took to social media to describe their experience.
Elizabeth wrote on Twitter: “In Odell, Oregon—my couch was shaking—so scary!”

Jill Sommerset said: “Just felt a small earthquake in Oregon.”
One person, Melissa, said she felt the tremor north of the border in Canada.
She said: “Felt in Vancouver, WA – thought I was crazy!”
