Parents fume as ‘family-friendly’ carnival has dildo-throwing and racy dancers

Fuming parents were left seething after they turned up to a “family-friendly” celebration to see an assortment of dildos on a table as part of a ring tossing competition and scantily-dressed performers dancing.

Families are moaning that the Pride event in the city of Venice, Florida was a “travesty” for the youngsters and say they want a full investigation into what happened.

There was particular outrage over the collection of huge multi-coloured dildos on display, with former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn writing on Telegram: “These sorts of public displays are not for children.”

But organisers said the racy activity was to encourage safe sex and condom use, and it was not intended for the kids anyway.

“We had no complaints from parents, and our understanding is no parents brought kids to the ring toss,” Nancy Wilson, a board member for Venice Pride, explained.

“It is something that blew up on social media.”

Other controversial clips from the event included a video appearing to show a bloke performing a lap dance and grabbing a woman’s breasts.

Politician Jack Brill whined: “An outrageous and unacceptable display went on Sunday at the Venice Pride Festival that requires a full investigation…

“A pair of drag queens in thongs, tutus, and spike heels danced lasciviously in front of the gazebo in Centennial Park.”

Officials who organised the event admitted they didn’t know it had been billed as “family-friendly”.

Roger Capote explained: “Had they known that, they would have brought a different activity to display.

“We do apologize for any way that it was misconstrued… the activities we do provide and the services we provide are geared toward adults.”
