Pensioner who molested horse forced to do unpaid work for McDonald’s sex attack

An elderly man who once molested a horse is being forced to do unpaid work after a sex assault at a McDonald's.

William Nicoll, 76, is now back on the Sex Offenders Register after admitting to slapping a teenager's bottom twice at the fast food restaurant in Perth, Scotland.

This comes after he was caught with his hand up a horse's backside and arrested for indecency in 2013.

According to The Courier, fiscal depute Nicole Lewis told the court during Nicoll's latest appearance that he "came right up close" to his victim's face when she was alone at the McDonald's.

After speaking to her, he went to walk away but slapped her behind.

"She was left scared and upset," Lewis said.

Nicoll was subsequently chucked out of the McDonald's.

He told police at that time that he had just been speaking to her, explaining the slap by saying: "I might have brushed past her."

However, CCTV revealed what really happened.

Defending, solicitor Billy Somerville said Nicoll's last conviction was "some time ago" and that this latest incident was "perhaps not at the highest end of the scale".

Nicoll was handed a two-year non-harassment order keeping him away from the victim. He was placed on supervision for two years and will remain on the register for that amount of time.

In addition, the sheriff at Perth Sheriff Court sentenced Nicoll to 120 hours of unpaid work.

Nine years ago he admitted to a sexually aggravated breach of the peace charge after children caught him putting his hand inside a horse in a field near Crieff.

When confronted by the foal's owner he said: "I'm very lonely."

“He seemed so engrossed in what he was doing that he didn’t see her and her children approach,” prosecutor Carol Whyte told the court at the time.

Nicoll's lawyer told the court that he had wanted to be a vet.
