The boss of a racy adults-only circus has received hundreds of applications to replace a runaway gimp.
Cirque du Vulgar’s Antonio Can-dela was left under the whip when one of his leather-masked performers did a bunk.
Antonio, 34, said the man couldn’t take being tied up and sat on by kinky dominatrix Lucy Ladbrooke.
Since he posted the vacancy on Facebook on Monday, more than 300 applicants have come forward.
But Lucy said that while a lot of men feel they’re prepared to be her gimp, it can be too much for some.
She said: “There are people who just can’t hack it. My routine is quite dramatic and I don’t smile much. She’s quite scary. I’ve got my two gimps in my torture chamber.
“Sometimes the costume can be too much for them. We tell them they’re wearing it for the whole show and they’re not allowed to take it off.
“They’re tied up. I sat on some of them. I have a whip – I’d probably get in trouble if I hit them with it.”
Cirque du Vulgar is touring the UK until October and Antonio is hoping to have a replacement by tomorrow night’s show in Oswestry, Shrops.
He said: “We’ll bring someone in to see if they’re willing to take the punishment. The other guy couldn’t.”
