A dogging couple have been branded "disgusting" after filming their passionate romp at the top of The Shard.

Standing at exactly 1015.7 feet (309.6m) high, The Shard is the tallest building in the UK – and apparently the ideal place to shoot a porno.

The man and woman uploaded footage of their intimate encounter to Pornhub where it has already racked up over 260,000 views.

The three-minute clip shows The Shard's unrivalled view of the London skyline in all its splendour, with sinks in the reflection of the windows, suggesting the exhibitionists snuck to the skyscraper's toilets to get busy.

It doesn't appear that anyone caught them in the act, although eagle-eyed passers-by or telescope owners in the London Bridge area may have been able to see.

A local resident has urged bosses at The Shard to investigate and ban the couple from returning.

They said: "It is disgusting, I can't believe they did that in such a public place.

"I’m surprised they weren't caught. The Shard should investigate the video and ban the couple from coming back."

When asked whether they would be taking any action regarding the video, a spokesperson for The Shard said: "We will not be providing a comment on this occasion."

The randy pair aren't actually the first to have romped at the £2billion skyscraper.

Even before its official public opening on February 1, 2013, workers found a black thong in the toilets after an exclusive party.

Dogging – engaging in sexual acts in a public – isn't technically illegal in of itself, but can lead to prosecution if someone sees.

Prosecution is possible under section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986, for exposure under section 66 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 or for the common law offence of outraging public decency.

The Shard is home to hundreds of offices as well as restaurants, apartments and a hotel.

Visitors do have to buy tickets, although entry is free when visiting one of the expensive eateries.
