‘Serial killer home’ with terrifying purchase clause mocked on Instagram

There are many weird and wonderful homes for sale out there – especially on the Instagram page of Zillow Gone Wild.

However, one property on the market has recently caught the attention of true crime fans because it has a bizarre clause for any potential new owner.

"CASH OFFERS ONLY AND NO ACCESS to see lower level and home sold AS IS ONLY with acknowledgement that home will convey with a person living in lower level with no lease in place," the listing reads.

The five-bedroom property located in a cul-de-sac in Fairfax, Virginia also features four bathrooms, large living areas and a garden for just $800,000 (around £615,000).

The home appears to have all the makings of a traditional American family home and is painted in white and blue with large pillars on the front porch.

But Instagram fans of the real estate agent just can't look past the odd purchase request as they believe the supposed squatter in the basement is a serial killer.

One user said: "800k for 5 bd, 4 ba, and your own serial killer."

Another added: "They really said Mystery Basement Goblin NOT sold separately."

A third commented: "On the next season of NETFLIX’s MYSTERY TENANT."

A fourth replied: "That’s one way to leave your husband."

The odd listing received over 29,000 likes on social media, including one from Murder, Mystery and Makeup YouTuber Bailey Sarian since it was posted yesterday (Tuesday, April 12).

However, the property no longer appears to be listed on Zillow's official website.

Last year, questions were after a serial killer serving a life sentence had been allowed to keep £20,000 from the sale of the home where he murdered his victims.

Stephen Port – dubbed the Grindr Killer because he met his victims on the gay dating app – killed at least four men after luring them to the flat. His involvement in a potential 58 other killings is still under investigation.

Port, 46, bought a share in the one-bedroom property, in Barking, east London, for £29,500 in 2007. It recently sold for £51,000.
