‘Somerset gimp’ unmasked as man alleged to be rubber pervert appears in court

The "Somerset gimp" may have been unmasked, with a man accused of being the rubber pervert making an appearance in court.

Joshua Hunt, 31, is accused of outraging public decency, possessing a bladed article and two affray charges relating to incidents in which he allegedly appeared wearing a black gimp suit.

Hunt, who lives at a £1.1million farm in Claverham, Somerset, spoke only to confirm his name during a two-minute hearing at Bristol Crown Court yesterday.

The defendant, who wore a grey sweatshirt in the dock, did not enter pleas.

Judge Martin Picton remanded him in custody pending a trial on November 6, which is expected to last four days.
The charges relate to an incident last October when a member of the public told police he been approached by a man wearing a black gimp suit and shiny mask.

In May female motorists saw a similarly-dressed man in the street.

The weapon charge relates to a lock knife allegedly found when police searched the suspect’s vehicle.
