Whether it’s a heartbreak playlist or an album of 90s pop anthems, many of us have guilty pleasures on Spotify that we’d rather weren’t known to the world.

Now, Spotify is about to remind you just how cringe your listening habits are, with the launch of its annual Wrapped playlists.

The playlists showcase your most played songs, albums, artists and podcasts of the year, as well as the top tunes of Spotify’s 381 million users worldwide.

‘If 2020 was the year that flipped the world on its head, 2021 was the year that we got used to seeing things upside down,’ Spotify explained.

‘With “normal” thrown out the window, we embraced the unknown and championed all of the things that make each of us unique.’

‘Spotify’s 2021 Wrapped is a celebration of this — the millions of weird and wonderful ways to listen and live in a world that continues to keep us on our toes.’

How to share your Spotify Wrapped

Spotify’s Wrapped playlists can be accessed here, and include ‘Your Top Songs 2021’ and ‘Your Artists Revealed’.

‘In addition to your top artists, genres, songs, podcasts and minutes listened, the personalised Wrapped experience includes several all new features, including: 2021: The Movie, Your Audio Aura, Playing Cards and 2021 Wrapped: Blend,’ Spotify explained.

The Wrapped playlists are wildly popular every year, with many fans opting to share their lists on social platforms including Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook – as well as on TikTok, which is newly available this year.

Ahead of the launch today, many fans took to Twitter to express their excitement, although many were nervous about showcasing their embarrassing listening habits.

One user said: ‘Oh boy oh boy, almost SpotifyWrapped time. I can’t wait to cringe at myself.’

Another wrote: ‘Hoping that SpotifyWrapped hides anything embarrassing that I’ve listened to this year.’

And one joked: ‘I know for a fact that I’m going to have to blur out two embarrassing bands.’

To see your top songs, albums, artists and podcats of 2021, simply open the Spotify app, and you should see the Wrapped experience at the top.

Tap through your personalised cards, and if you see one you’d like to share, simply tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.

You’ll be given the option to share on Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or TikTok.
